The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations required a full interior refurbishment of their Kampala country office. The brief centred on creating a contemporary, functional working environment that honoured the organisation's global standards while responding to the local context — a space that would be equally at home for daily operations, international delegations, and high-level government meetings.
Our approach balanced institutional clarity with warmth. A restrained palette of white, warm grey, and natural timber tones runs throughout — dignified without being austere. The spatial layout was reorganised to improve circulation between the open-plan workstation floor, meeting rooms, and executive offices, with consistent ceiling coffers and recessed linear lighting tying each zone together.
Meeting rooms were fitted with full-height glazing to maintain visual connectivity across the floor plate, while acoustic panelling and bespoke joinery ensure each enclosed space functions to a high standard. Brand identity is applied with precision — the FAO emblem and organisational colour are referenced at key reception and wayfinding points without overwhelming the interior character.
The refurbished offices deliver a working environment that meets the operational and representational needs of an international organisation operating at the highest levels. Staff benefit from a more legible, comfortable, and well-serviced workspace, while visiting partners and government counterparts encounter a setting that communicates competence and purpose from the moment they arrive.
